Summer #Staycation 7 - Planet Hollywood

We were so unbelievably lucky to be invited to Planet Hollywood as their guests, last weekend before we took our trip to Ripleys, and from the moment we arrived, we felt like royalty. We had a waitress called Monika who made sure we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. Later on we were also served by Arina.

The view from upstairs in the Restaurant

We had a menu on the table so we could look at the choice of foods, so much choice that our mouths were watering at the thought. We were asked if we wanted a drink while we chose something to eat and as it was a hot day Kimmy and i chose a coke and Tilly chose one of the famous Milkshakes, i had a sneaky taste and i even tasted chocolate chips. You can choose a drink in a souvenir Planet Hollywood Glass for an additional cost

Planet Hollywood Milkshake

For starters we shared a bowl of Nacho’s to share - a family favourite of ours and followed that with a burger each. Tilly had the Childs meal that was £8.95, for a main meal, a dessert and a drink. Kimmy chose a Veggie Burger with fries and i chose a Cheeseburger with salad. They had quite a good Vegetarian selection and they were clearly marked with a V.

When it came to Desserts we were stuffed, but when a menu is in front of you, its so hard to say no. Tilly chose Strawberry ice cream (the best i have ever tasted!) topped with fresh strawberries. I chose a Knickerbocker Glory. We were so full up when we left

The restaurant is full of memorabilia and although Tilly didn't really know much of it, it kept Kim and I entertained. Tilly did like the hand prints on the wall at the back of the restaurant, up some stairs. She enjoyed measuring her own hands against them.

I liked the Star Wars wall, as my son grew up obsessed with Star wars, Seeing Han Solo in the Carbonate was really good. Also placed towards the back of the restaurant was a 007 area, where there are a few pieces of memorabilia.

All over the walls and on the ceiling there was memorabilia, so what ever angle you were sitting, you could see something of interest.

As we left the restaurant (we really didn't want to leave, we loved the atmosphere) Tilly discovered the Terminator  and had her photo taken with it.

When your inside the restaurant you can text PLANET and your message to 85010 and it will be displayed on the big screen. A perfect surprise if your celebrating a special occaision. We loved the big screens and there were snippets of Disney cartoons that of course attracted Tillys attention.
On your way out dont forget to pop into the Planet Hollywood shop. In there you will find all sorts of souvenirs from T-shirts, hoodies and baseball caps to Glasses and golf balls. Tilly chose a T-shirt and you can normally find these on a special offer in the shop The staff in the shop were lovely and helped us to find the right size. You can also buy your tickets for entry to Ripleys from the shop, save time on the door and you get a fast track ticket too.

When you leave the Restaurant take a walk down the side, in all of the windows you will find more Memorabilia to look at

We had the most amazing time at Planet Hollywood, so if you go for a visit, make sure you tag in on Facebook and tweet them with your pictures.

Planet Hollywood is found at 57-60 Haymarket, London and you can Book online here.

Planet Hollywood have a summer of special events coming up with the England games being shown and you can book a two course meal for £20.  We also have fathers day coming up, so why not treat him to a special meal? On the Fourth of July there is US Independence Day and looking further forward, they have Halloween celebrations, Thanksgiving Day on Thursday 27th November (special menu option with turkey), Christmas Season and New Year.

Planet hollywood can also cater for groups and parties and you can even privately hire a room here

So overall what did we like about Planet Hollywood?

Brilliant service, lovely atmosphere, amazing food, good prices in the shop and an experience you must do if you visit London. You almost get the museum experience with your meal.
