Summer Staycation No. 5 - #getupandgo With Travelodge

When we go away we usually stay in a Travelodge as i like the size of the Family rooms and it means we can stay in one room together. We have stayed in many over the years ranging from Cardiff Central (perfect to do the Dr Who Trail)
to Edinburgh Musselburgh, and we have always been happy with the service we receive. So we were over the moon to be asked to spend a night with Travelodge as part of their #getupango summer campaign.

We chose London as we are Merlin Pass holders and thought it would be great to be able to go up there, have a day out and not worry about having to get a late train home. But as it was we found so much other things to do in the area that was free, that we didn't need to use our passes at all on the first day.

We were asked to stay in the London Covent Garden and i was so looking forward to it as i had never stayed in one in central London before, its normally the outskirts. The hotel was so easy to find and is on walking distance of Covent Garden tube station (although this is closed on weekends untill Nov) and check in was easy. As we were loaded down with bags, we asked if we could check in early and were offered the option of paying £10 early check in, which we didnt mind at all. We had a spacious room and a huge bed. A flat screen Tv opposite the bed attached to the wall and the best part was that we were placed on the 8th floor - meaning we had the most amazing views of London.
We stayed in a double room, they do have family rooms based in another part of the hotel, across the road.
The Hotel is right in the middle of theatreland too, so ideal if you wanna take in a show.

Our hotel has recently been refurbished, and i loved the bed spread and matching curtains  - a simple yet nice look.

The Bathroom has a shower so therefore it is disabled accessible too

Towels are supplied for your stay

As soon as we had cleaned ourselves up, we went back out on an adventure of London. We managed to find a free Healthy Living Event happening in where we were offered free fruit bowls and smoothies, in fact TIlly had a go on the Smoothie bike, making her own smoothie.

Then we had to make our way to Planet Hollywood where we were to spend an afternoon as their guests, and we had a most excellent meal there. It was walking distance from the Travelodge and we were able to pick up a leaflet there, with a map on it. At the travelodge near the reception you will find a variety of leaflets of thing to do locally.

After having a wonder around London taking in some Sights like Trafalgar square - again walking distance from the hotel and then making a visit to Ripleys - Believe it or not.

After a lovely evening out, we took a stroll back to the hotel, stopping at the M&M store on the way.  It was so nice to pop into our bed at the end of the night, so much walking!

Before we went off to bed, we popped to the bar for a coke and ice

And for those late night snacks, there is a sweet machine for your convenience
