Design Your Own Christmas Stocking With Hobbycraft

Recently we were sent a stocking and some bits to decorate it from, This excited miss Tilly vwery much as she enjoys being able to review things. Now she has struggled quite alot recently and never really been interested in art and crafts, not as much as the older children were. But when this parcel arrived, she absolutely had to make it straight away.

Trying to get Tilly to think of a design before going on and making a mess  i mean creation is hard work, but today she managed to set all the fluffy pom poms in place before gluing them on (we used a glue gun, but Tilly wasn't allowed to touch it, i popped the glue on and she placed the pom poms on top). She is doing patterns at school so she enjoyed this part of the making. She also added some ribbon down the centre of the stocking.

Once she was happy with the design, she went ahead and wrote her name with the silver glitter glue - after all Christmas is all about shiny and sparkly things.

Her stocking is now ready to hang up and for her to wait for Santa to fill it with toys. There is so much satisfaction from making your own things this Christmas and its great for sitting down and spending time with your little ones :)

For more stocking ideas go to, here are some of their designs to give you some ideas.
