The Giving Tree Snacks And Crisps

When you freeze dry food, it removes 98% of the food’s water content, giving it a longer shelf life whilst retaining the flavour, colour and nutritional elements. You will find that freeze dried foods are rich in antioxidants, potassium and fibre. Sometimes we dont have time to stop and eat some fruit and veg throughout the day, so grabbing a packet of these will count as one of your five a day, The Giving Tree range is perfectly suited to all ages. They are great for a paleo diet, or for athletes due to the light weight. Toddlers also love them and can either suck or chew because they dissolve in the mouth so easily. They are full of goodness and they are a healthy way to give our kids a snack and a great alternative to sweets.

The Giving Tree sent me and Little Miss T, a selection of fruit and vegetable crisps to try, and we were so excited to try something new. Little Miss T has always been a fussy eater and getting her to eat vegetables was a daily battle, but she started school last year and now seems to enjoy her veggies, especially broccoli. So when the hamper arrived, she was so keen to try them out.
What surprised me the most was that the crisps were in the shape of the actual fruit or veg, there were little broccoli tree's and cute little strawberries. Totally not what I expected to see in the packet at all.

Tilly loved the fruit ones and most of the vegetable ones but she really wasn't keen on the broccoli crisps! The crisps are so handy and you can pop some in a pot for your child's play time break at school or add some fruit to the top of a home made cake like we did. no more soggy fruit on top of cakes.

These crisps are a much healthier snack than a normal bag of crisps and instead of sweets, you can offer them to your kids as a healthier alternative. You can also encourage your kids to eat the freeze dried vegetables by telling them that astronauts eat freeze dried foods and this is freeze dried food, so really they will be like an astronaut if they eat the vegetables.
These snacks are perfect for TV snacking, How often do we sit in front of the TV and snack on junk? well with these you can still keep snacking on something tasty and fun, whilst watching your favourite programmes. Perfect and healthy for an after school snack for the kids too.

You can buy The Giving Tree snacks from Fortnum and Mason, Selfridges, Plant Organic and more places, there is a list of stockists here. Why not give them a try?
