Save money getting to Disney World

Disney World is in Orlando, Florida, and the long haul flight can take a fair chunk from your holiday budget.

My first tip is to get the best value for money when looking at your flights by looking around price comparison websites such as Skyscanner and Kayak. Don't forget to go straight to the airline direct.

Don’t forget to get cashback on your flights by using a cashback website such as Quidco or Top Cashback. This will allow you to get a little bit of money back from purchasing your flights, and every little helps.

Save money on theme park tickets

Theme park tickets are expensive, so knowing which parks you want to visit helps you to plan accordingly and make saving where you can. If you want to visit each of the four Disney theme parks and their water parks then a 7, 14 or 21 day ticket is going to give you great value for money.

You can save even more money if you are planning on visiting more than once in a 12 month period by looking at getting an annual pass for your favourite theme parks. Not only do you save money on theme park entry, they often come with added bonuses like money off at certain locations.

Save money on hotels in Orlando

Staying in a Disney hotel is truly magical but it will set you back and account for a massive chunk of your budget.

Here's what you get included when you stay in a Disney hotel:

Free transfers to and from the airport
Free transport on Disney property
Free parking at the theme parks
Free Magic Bands
Extra park hours exclusively for people staying in a Disney hotel

Alternatively, you could look for hotels nearby, or choose a private villa.

Saving money on food & drink at Disney

Disney snacks cost the earth, but you can save money by being prepared. Have breakfast in your hotel room or villa – you can still enjoy the American experience by purchasing Lucky Charms or other American cereals. I do love a typical American breakfast at Denny's, but opting for a few breakfasts in the villa or hotel room means that the savings quickly mount up. You can also take snacks into the parks with you.

You can also get yourself free sodas at A World of Coke at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney. Here you can try Coke products from around the world, completely free of charge!

Know how much spending do money you need

Disney World can be very expensive and everything has a premium, but if you plan ahead and use these tips it definitely won’t be as much of an expense as you think it might be! Figure out how much spending money you’ll need for Florida.

There are so many great things you can buy in America to bring home with you, so do consider packing an empty suitcase to bring back all the goodies you love. With plenty of outlets there is something for everyone, including the chance to get Disney World merchandise at a fraction of the cost.
