An Open Letter To A Rude Customer In The Supermarket

Dear Shopper in Iceland

I think you dropped something in the doorway of the shop as you came in. Oh yeah you did, it was your manners!

I was in the queue behind you today and witnessed your behaviour and the way you spoke to the cashier. I really wasn't her fault that your cash note was ripped and she was unsure as to whether to accept it or not.

You see, working in retail is not as easy as you think. She might choose to work there but she doesn't choose to take abuse from customers on a daily basis. She probably gets minimum wage for a job where customers get pissy with her when they don't get their own way. Throwing your arms in the air and saying in your rather rude voice that it didn't matter and then counting your coins out made you look like .......... basically a twat.

Little Brian Face Paint Sticks Review

Recently we were sent some Little Brian face paint sticks to review, these are face paints that look like pens rather than palettes of face paints and they are a solid pen that is vibrant from the moment you apply it to the skin. I have mixed feelings about these paint sticks that I will talk about in this blog post. I like painting Matildas face because she loves being so creative.

20 Things To Take To Camp Bestival

Last year was our first year at Camp Bestival and being a newbie, I didn't really know what to take and what not to take. So this year I thought I would write a guide on what we think is a good idea to take when you go to the festival. I am the type of parent that tries to remember to pack everything and I always overpack, but I like to be prepared. Recently on a holiday my daughter was sick and I had taken Calpol with me, but I dropped it and smashed it, luckily another parent at the resort had a bottle of Calpol to give me, so there is usually another parent out there that can help you out if you do forget something. Camp Bestival is back on July 25th-28th, just after the schools break up for the summer and we are most excited because the line up is full of the best music for everyone from Annie Mac to Jess Glynne and Lewis Capaldi to East 17, you're bound to have so much fun.

So apart from the obvious things that you need, like Tickets that you can get if you click here. Here is our list of things to take with you

Flavoured Teas For Kids From Adagio Teas

Are you a tea drinker? I don't drink as much as I should do, because a normal cup of tea never changes the taste, does it? I would rather drink a flavoured tea because you can pick and choose different flavours to drink for your mood. Recently I was sent a selection of different teas from Adagio Teas and what makes these different to the teas that I usually drink is that they are loose leaf teas as well as some tea in bags but you can use as much or as little to add taste to your drink. When you buy normal tea in tea bags, it is usually the cheapest tea just popped into a tea bag and sealed but with these teas, you can see the quality in the tea because the leaves are larger it is not powdery like normal tea bags. The tea bags are also a better quality too, they are not your normal paper tea bag, they are silky tea bags in the shape of a pyramid for the tea to move around in.

Adagio Teas literally has the biggest range of flavoured teas that I think I have ever seen and there is something for everyone's taste. I have even introduced 9-year-old Matilda to flavoured tea with the help from the selection of Princess teas and children's tea, which are decaffeinated

What To Do When You Have Been Ghosted

noun: ghosting
The practice of ending a personal relationship with someone by suddenly and without explanation withdrawing from all communication.
"I thought ghosting was a horrible dating habit reserved for casual flings"
I'm sure we have all been ghosted once or twice in our lives, it can come from friends or partners and it can be really hurtful. Recently I was ghosted by someone who I have known for years, but you know what? It wasn't the first time that it happened. This time I found it easier to cope with because I am a stronger bigger person. the person that ghosted me, has lost more than I lost! The first time it happened was on the day I had Matilda, a friend of mine was coming to see me, she was my best friend and I was excited to show her my baby. She never arrived and after that, the relationship went downhill and she stopped answering my calls, she turned hateful and in the end cut off all contact. It took weeks for me to actually realise what had happened and even longer to understand why she had done it.

Childrens Sessions At Three Discovery Centres

During half term, we were invited along to the Three flagship store in Oxford Street to take a few sessions that were laid on for children. They were sessions that they really need for skills these days as we are really more and more on technology to get by in the world. The sessions are run by the staff at the participating Three stores and the best bit is that they are totally FREE! Yes, I did say free. You don't get much for free these days and with the half term being expensive enough as it is trying to keep kids occupied, then these are a Godsend.

The first session we did was to learn about podcasting and how to make a podcast, which was something that I was actually wanting to learn too, so it is great that you sit in on the sessions and work with your kids. Using an Ipad, we had an app called Opinion that can be found on your iPhone app store. This is the app that you use to make the podcast and also edit it afterwards. You will find some alternative apps on android too.

Coral Lace Covered Dress Review From JD Williams

I have recently lost 3 and a half stone in weight and I needed some new clothes. Now, I like dresses as much as the next person and I was overwhelmed to be offered one from JD Williams to review. I was also offered some swimwear from them and you can see the review here.

The dress I chose was a Coral Lace Covered Dress, there is something about lace that makes you feel ladylike and classic. And although coral is a new colour for me, I am determined to move away from the dark coloured clothes that I have always worn to hide my figure. The dress has a coral petticoat and the lace overdress. The bodice is fitted and layered which is really flattering to a larger lady. The lace is a hard wearing lace and I was really surprised by how well made and good quality it was for the price of £25. It is a perfect dress for a party, special occasion or even a night out somewhere. It is made with a mix of 53% Polyamide and 47% Cotton but the petticoat is polyester.

How To Hold The Perfect Barbecue

Everybody loves a barbecue, as soon as the good old English weather starts to get sunny, everyone gets the barbecue out and dusts it off. It really doesn't matter if you have a £200 barbecue or a cheap disposable one from the Pound shop, you still get the same experience. So how can you put on the best barbecue to impress your friends and family? We had one last weekend and we teamed up with Spar shop to promote their Barbecue range that is available in store now. Our local Spar is in a petrol station and you would think it would be more expensive than a normal supermarket, but it actually really isn't and the quality is just as good, if not better. So how did we put on the perfect barbecue?

Taking A Village Tour In Marmaris, Turkey - An Educational Visit

When we go on holiday I always use it as a learning curve for Matilda, kids learn so much by travel and on our recent trip to Turkey, we went on a village tour with some of the local people. It was a booked tour and very well organised. It cost me £20 for both of us to go on the trip and it included lunch too. if you go to Marmaris, it is a really good way to see the real Turkish way of life. This was one of the nice days we have before Matilda became ill and had to be taken to hospital.

We were collected by minibus early in the morning and travelled for about half an hour to get to one of the five villages that we would be visiting. We went to a beach called Jesus beach because the water is so shallow on either side of a sandbank and you can walk from one side to the other.

Fuller Figure Swimwear from JD Williams

Recently I took Tilly on a holiday to Turkey for a break from the hustle and bustle of life and to relax by the side of the pool, but my problem was that after losing nearly 4 stone, I had no swimwear that fitted me comfortably. But JD Williams came to the rescue and asked if I wanted any swimwear from them.

I chose Palm print non-wired bikini bra and the matching Palm print high waisted briefs. These are both sold as separates, which I am a huge fan off because I like to mix and match my swimwear and sometimes you can get away with wearing a bikini top for two days but a pair of bikini bottoms, only for one day. So on the second day, you can wear a different pair of briefs but you still have the gorgeous bikini top.
