How Easy Is It To Take A Coach Trip To Amsterdam

I have written before about my son living in Holland with his wife, he is a greenkeeper on a golf course in Bruinesse, just outside of Rotterdam. Last year we discovered how easy it was to get the overnight coach from Dover to Rotterdam and it made visiting my son, so much easier. We get on the coach at about 11pm and then wake up in Holland. It's not cheap but it means Matilda sees her brother and I see my son. We wanted to go to Holland before Christmas and we booked a trip but as I was talking to Matilda about it, she asked if we could go to Amsterdam for the day too. So I booked the coach to Amsterdam as it was the same price.

Cruelty Free Skincare From Rosina's Lotions And Potions

Are you ready to detox after the new year? Have you overdone it over Christmas with all of the late nights partying and wrapping kids gifts to ensure they have the best Christmas? We all overdo it though and January is the right time to put that all in the past and start the new year on the right foot. I am 46 years old and I am tired, it is showing on my skin and where it's so cold, it is bringing my sensitive skin out. It's not a good look at the moment!

One Week Back On Plan At Slimming World

Wow! That is all I can say. I went to my weekly slimming world today and it was so, so busy. So I took a seat until the queue went down, but part of me didn't want to get on the scales. I have actually been finding it hard to get back on the diet since Christmas. I have craved sugar this week, really badly and I found it difficult to stay away from all of the sugar, sweet foods. I have been snacking on cherry tomatoes because they are sweet and sometimes take the craving away (plus they are speed food and help the weight loss). Maybe I am craving sweet things because it's coming up to 'that time of the month' but I am so Pre-menopausal that I don't even know when that time of the month is anymore!

The Top 7 Tag 2019

Thank you to Karen at The Mad House of Cats and Babies for tagging us in the top 7 post. You can read her post here, if you like and also find links to other bloggers. 2018 was a good year until December, and Tilly and I had many adventures. My blog was relaunched under a new name and I spent the year really enjoying the writing on there, it's my space on the internet. The top 7 tag is all about sharing my favourite 7 blog posts from last year, 7 things that we loved from last year and 7 things that we are looking forward to in 2019. Then at the end of the post, I will tag other bloggers who will then write about their 'top 7'.

Vegan Cosmetics In Superdrug

As I work For Superdrug, I get asked A LOT about vegan cosmetics, although more brands are adding vegan products to their brand, we are finding that they are not telling us which products are now vegan. Some of the brands write on the cosmetic stands that it's partial vegan or they write underneath that a product is vegan, but other brands don't actually let the customers know, So here is a list that you can have with the actual products that are vegan. 99% of these products will be found in Superdrug, but the others will be found online. Happy Veganuary.

Drowning In Debt, When will It End?

I'm in debt - right up to my eyeballs and there is no running away from it any more. A week before Christmas my world came crashing down when bailiffs turned up on my doorstep for a council tax bill that I thought I had paid. Turned out that I hadn't and they were here to take my possessions. It was a real wake up call and if it wasn't for friends, I wouldn't have been able to give them some money. I was lucky that they didn't take our Christmas Presents! I had already told Tilly that there wasn't going to be much for Christmas and that we were really hard up. Luckily she understood and told me that it was okay, its all about who you're with, not what you get. She is a wise kid that one.

Who's That Girl Pamper Kits

Have you got a pre-teen or someone that has just hit the teenage years and they want to wear makeup? They think that they have grown u all of a sudden and they want to start to pamper themselves. Although when Matilda wants to wear face masks or makeup, I am always cautious with what she uses. She has eczema, so I like to know that she is using gentle products. This, however, doesn't stop her from browsing the cosmetic aisle in Superdrug!

She is 8 years old and although I let her experiment with makeup at home, she isn't allowed to leave the house with any bright makeup. We were sent some products from the 'Who's That Girl' range to try out and give an honest review on. Even I was excited to receive this parcel because of the selection of goodies that they sell. Who says you can't be 46 going on 12? This is what we were sent

Kids Learn From Your Own Example

If you know Matilda, you will know that she has such a hunger for adventure. She loves to try new things and nothing scares her. She is her own person and she is so strong and independent at 8 years old. That scared little girl that was traumatised with what had happened to our family, seems to be in the long and distant past. The name Matilda means ''great warrior'' in German. I chose this name for her because I had such a troublesome pregnancy and I nearly lost her. I chose the name because it suited my little fighter and here she is nearly 9 years old, showing me she is still a great warrior. She shows me every single day that she won't be beaten.

Going Back To Slimming World After Christmas

I went back to Slimming World last night. It wasn't something I was looking forward to doing because I have completely been off plan since I last weighed in the day before Christmas Eve. It seems so long ago now and at that weigh-in, I had lost 7lbs. I knew Christmas was coming and I couldn't ignore the goodies in the house for Matilda and Kim, So it was hard not to dip into the chocolates and crisps etc. So I decided 'Bugger it!' I am going to enjoy Christmas because it's no good being miserable and worrying about what I am eating. So that's what I did.

Pokémon Treats From McDonalds Happy Meals

We love going to McDonald's! We don't have one in my town, so it makes it even more of a treat when we go there for lunch or even dinner on the run. Its convenient for parents like me, and it has healthier options for meals for both myself and my child. Another thing that Tilly loves about Macdonalds is having a happy meal, the food is just the right size for her to enjoy and she gets to choose what she wants. A happy meal consists of either a burger, a wrap or chicken nuggets/fish fingers. Tilly usually goes for the cheeseburger option and then as a side order, instead of the chips that are offered, she might choose carrot sticks and a bottle of water or milk as her drink. But did you know McDonald's also offer vegetarian meals in the happy meal option too? Tilly decides occasionally that she wants to be a vegetarian  (her older sister is one), so she has this option as a meal too. Her being a vegetarian usually lasts a day!

How To Drive Safely This Winter

It's January, and it's time to get back to normal (whatever 'normal' is). The weather is rubbish, it's getting colder and the weather is getting more treacherous as the first few months of the year go on. It's time to make sure that everything around you is safe and one of the most important things to think about is your car and how safe it is.

If your car isn't as safe as it should be, then it will put not only you at risk, everytime you get behind the wheel but it will also put your family and others around you at risk. So here are our top five tips for keeping your car in roadworthy condition throughout the winter.
