Supporting My Child As She Starts Blogging

So Matilda (Tilly) started a blog!

She got a laptop from a family friend for her birthday a few weeks ago and now there is no stopping her from becoming a blogger. She already has an Instagram account that is strictly monitored by me and also Youtube but she was desperate to be able to say she was a blogger.

Kitedrone Red Baron Kite Review

It has been so windy lately, so it was perfect weather to fly our new Kitedrone Red Baron Fusionwing kite.  We were sent the kite to review and I thought it would be a great opportunity to get Matilda off her Tablet and get outside, running about. We have had kites before but they usually only last a couple of uses because they are not built for the seaside wind and they snap after a few attempts at flying. When we have flown kites before, we have also had trouble keeping the kite in the air. It really isn't as easy as Mary Poppins makes it look, there is a real skill in flying a kite. But then we didn't have a Kitedrone, did we?

Tesalate Towel Review

When I go on holiday, it's usually to an all-inclusive beach holiday to somewhere hot. That means that I want to take my towel with me to use on the sunbeds, but it means losing a lot of suitcase space for the sake of having your own towel. I have used microfibre towels before, especially when I was backpacking in Europe. I was sent a beach towel from Tesalate to review and hopefully take to our holiday in Turkey. Tesalate is an Australian company and we know that the Australians know all about being down the beach.

Solid Wood Flooring Prices And DIY Installation

Surely, most of us wanted to install solid wood flooring on the floor of our houses, establishments, etc. Maybe because we knew that is really better in some aspects such as it is easy to clean and it is low maintenance, it is strong and durable, and lastly it can add up value to our house.

Solid wood flooring can still work and in place even if it is used for several decades. Some people choose to install solid wood flooring because it is easier to install and maintain. But because we knew
that it can enhance the look of our house, we were asking on how much it cost if we were going to
install solid wood flooring.

The Ultimate Guide To Moving Home

Moving home can be quite daunting, can't it? We are all excited for a new start in our new home but there is so much to organise before you actually move out of the old house and into the new home. Don't start panicking yet though, because we are here to help you.

Declutter

When you're moving house,  you are paying a removal company to move all of your things for you so you need to get rid of things that you haven't used in a while or not going to use in the near future. It's not worth paying for these items to be moved if you're not going to use them anytime soon. As Marie Kondo says ' Tidying orders and relaxes the mind', so a good declutter will help to ensure you have a smooth moving process and you won't have to sort things out when you get to your new house.

Ways To Bring Light Into Your Home

There is no better feeling than bringing light into your home. It makes your house feel so much cleaner and fresher as well as making it feel like your house is bigger. It is also a well-known fact that longer days and extra light are also very good for your mental health. Being so dark and dull is enough to make anyone feel down. As a blogger, I also rely on a lot of natural light coming into my house so that my photos are clear and bright.

There are many ways to bring light into your house and some are just tricks of the light, but others will need investment, but this will only add extra value into your house. If you are thinking of selling your house, getting natural light into it is an excellent selling technique. So how can we get extra light into your house? It's easy if you follow some tips that we have put together for you.

How Can I Get A Good Night Sleep?

I am the first to admit that I am the worst sleeper, Sometimes I survive on about 4 hours sleep!

Sleep is the time that we recharge our batteries ready for the day ahead and lack of sleep can be not only dangerous but embarrassing too. The amount of times I have fallen asleep on the bus home with all the school kids on it is embarrassing (especially as I snore), I also worry that I am going to actually miss my stop.

Energy Saving Ideas For Your Home

Costs of owning your own home are rising all of the time, it is sometimes difficult to make the ends meet with the wages that you get paid. Although the cost of living is on the rise, there are actually some things that you can do in your home that will help you to save money, by cutting down on the amount of energy that you use. Making simple swaps can save you ALOT of money over the years and it will make your home so much more energy efficient.

Boil Water In The Kettle Instead Of The Pan

When you cook your dinner, don't put water in the pan to boil, it takes too long and then uses up more energy than if you boil it in the kettle. So I always start cooking on the hob with hot boiled kettle water. It cuts down a lot of cooking time and I also use this method for adding water to the slow cooker.

How To Have A Pamper Party

Wow, Matilda turned 9 years old at the weekend! I cannot believe how grown up she has become all of a sudden. I am not the type of mum that has birthday parties for her, instead, I would rather spend a day out with her instead. I am not a mumsy mum and although I love her with all my heart, the thought of loads of other kids running about a hired hall is the stuff of nightmares. So this year she asked me for a party and my initial thought was 'BOLLOCKS!!!'. I told her she could have a few friends to do something with, like afternoon tea somewhere or a day out. My friend has recently started a business doing pamper parties and I asked her if she would like one of those for her birthday.

Matilda has got to the age where she is starting to think about her appearance and she wants to experiment with makeup and clothes. I love that she wants to be a girly girl - but where has my little Tilly gone? She invited 5 friends and the preparations began!

Getting Your Garden Ready For The Summer

Who else loves the summer? The long evenings with your friends and family, laughing and enjoying yourself. Or just being able to relax on your own with a cup of tea and a good book. The garden can really be a haven to you. Can you believe it is nearly spring? So now it's the right time to start getting your garden ready for you to enjoy. Here are some tips on what to think about whilst getting your garden ready.

Sort The Lawn Out

Hopefully, it will be nice and green with the spring weather that we have had, we are lucky to not have had a harsh winter like last year. If you do have some patches that need repairing, then get it started in the spring so you have some spring rain to help it grow. Get rid of weeds in the grass by using a good weed killer or by pulling them out by the root. Check your mower is working okay and give the garden lawn a good mow – you’re becoming quite a gardener already!

How Safe Is Your Car To Drive?

I don't know if you remember but last summer we were involved in a car accident on a visit to Holland to see my son and daughter in law. We were lucky that the car braked fast and we walked away with bruises. This was down to my daughter in laws quick thinking and the safety of the car. We all know that the car safety rules in Europe are so much stricter than in the UK, but did you know that there are some really simple ways to ensure your car is safe to drive in the UK?
