Advice On Caring For Your Hands
We are all using hand sanitizer at the moment and washing our hands more than normal to stop the spread of Coronavirus. But have you seen how dry your hands are getting? It’s only going to get worse when the weather turns colder too. So here are some tips on caring for your hands and nails.

Use Hand Cream Daily
Use a hand cream every day to help moisturise your hands. Use a good quality one that is ideal for your hands. Norwegian hand creams are good because they are designed for Norwegian fishermen and their dry rough hands.
Also use some cotton gloves at night after you have applied some hand cream. This will help to moisturise your hands.
Don’t Forget To Look After Your Nails
Your nails are as important as your hands and they can start getting sore around the nail bed, so use oils to keep them moisturised. You can buy serums from most drug stores, but you get the same benefit from using and olive oil or a vitamin oil.
Use a buffer to add some shine to your nails. This also stimulates blood circulation at the base of the nail. Which will encourage healthy nail growth. File them to keep them in shape too.
Use Moisturising Soap
We all want to use anti-bacterial soaps like Dettol, but hand washing with any soap is efficient enough if you wash properly for more than 20 seconds. So you can use a moisturising soap to help keep your hands in a better condition. Then make sure you dry them properly with a fresh towel. You don’t need to buy a luxury soap to get the benefit of moisturiser. A normal own brand moisturising soap will work just as well.

Paint Your Nails
You don’t need to get your nails painted professionally, especially as it is difficult to get an appointment at the moment. You can go to a shop and pick up a nail polish for a couple of quid.
Make sure you use a base coat. This stops any bright colours from staining your nails. Then apply a couple of coats of your chosen nail colour. Don’t go too close to the edge of your nails because you will flood the nails and paint will go everywhere. When the nails are dry, add a topcoat. This will give you long-lasting nail colour and help to prevent chipping.

Wear Gloves For Washing Up
You are washing your hands enough at the moment, so make sure you use gloves if you are putting your hands in water to clean the house or wash up the dirty dishes. Avoid using harsh chemicals on your hands if possible because it will dry them out even more.
You Need Your Hands Every Day, So Look After Them!
You do need your hands for everyday life, so following this bit of advice will help to keep them moisturised and free from cuts and dry patches. Everyone knows, if your hands dry out too much, they start to get cuts on them. These cuts are extremely painful if you then go and use a hand sanitiser on them! We all know of that pain, so caring for your hands is extremely important at the moment.
