Find Your Positive Self

Here we are, it’s summer! Restrictions are lifted and all the excuses we have used over the past year won’t work. We cannot say that we are not meeting because of social distancing. Or that you are shielding. We have all got comfortable in our own company and the thought of being with people absolutely horrifies us. We haven’t needed to get dressed up to go out for dinner all year. And now here we are, friends want us to go out and get back to afternoon teas or nights out in the pub. So how can you get back to finding your positive self again?

Lockdowns and Covid have caused depression in many of us as we struggled with our mental health. So now we need to find ways to prepare ourselves for being with people again.

Find Your Happy Place

Your happy place could be a bench in the park or a stroll along the promenade. Your happy place could be a coffee and a chat with someone special. Sit and binge-watch your favourite series to help you relax and take your mind off the things that are worrying you. This will help to prepare you for going out and being with your friends.

Write Things Down

If you have worries about going out. Then write them down and think of a way to turn those worries into positive thoughts. Make lists and write them down. This can help you to be more positive. Writing things down can help you to overcome your fears. Try writing a diary or even start a blog. You can start a blog and not publish it. But even though nobody sees it, you will feel better for getting the words down.

Think About What You Eat

Think about what you are eating. You might think that you feel better eating some chocolate, but that feeling only stays for a little while. Afterwards, you will feel bloated and fed up, especially after the sugar rush has gone. Nuts and bananas are among a few of the foods that will help you feel better through eating. If you have put on a little weight during the lockdown, then healthy food will also make you feel better. Because it will help you to lose weight too.

Daily Quotes to find your positive self again

Daily Quotes can help you to feel more positive. They can change your mindset and make you smile. Your daily quotes can come from something as simple as a meme that you find on social media or asking Alexa for a positive quote of the day. Positive quotes can then be written in your notebook or pictures on your phone. You can look at them when you need a bit of positivity.

Talk It Out To find You Positive Self

Talk to your friends about your anxieties about meeting up and going out. Speak to your family members and anyone else you have around you. Talking it out makes it feel so much better because it helps get your anxieties out in the open. You can then work towards finding an answer to find your positive self again. Sometimes we are so overwhelmed with our worries, that we forget how to work it all out. A problem shared, is a problem halved.

Have A Hug

Having a hug can make you realise how much you are loved and missed by your friends. And also it releases oxytocins in our brains that make us feel so much more positive about ourselves. If there is nobody around to give you a hug, do it yourself. Well not literally hugging yourself, that’s weird. But get a nice body cream or hand cream and massage it into your skin.

Take A Bath

Run a nice warm bath, add bubbles, dim the lights, and pour some wine. Lock the door and relax. This will help you to unwind if you are feeling stressed and anxious. It is also good to help you get ready to go out and be with your friends. In my opinion, a bath is an answer to all of your problems.
