Home Date Night Ideas
We all know that being a parent is stressful and full-on. When you become a parent, almost all of your spare time is suddenly consumed because you need to be there to provide for your child. It doesn’t matter if you have a newborn or a school-aged child, they still need you, and you still spend your time juggling playtime, homework, cooking, cleaning and working. All of this leaves little time for your partner. So stay-at-home date night ideas are perfect to keep the fire in the relationship.
Parents need to ensure that they’re making date night a priority. If you’re struggling to think of fun ways you and your partner can create date nights at home, here are my favourite stay-at-home date night ideas for parents.
1 Youtube Karaoke
If you loved a good night out before kids, you will love this stay-at-home date night idea for parents! YouTube Karaoke is so much fun, and you have pretty much every song ever written at your disposal. Simply search YouTube Karaoke songs on your TV, tablet, phone, or laptop and sing your heart out. Bonus points for any couples using random objects as microphones and creating their very own onstage persona.
2 Eat a nice meal together
Cooking a fancy meal together is a brilliant way for you and your partner to share some quality time. Having a bit of a laugh in the kitchen, catching up with each other’s lives, and just being in the same room together actively working towards the same goal is a lovely way to bond. You could then choose to recreate a restaurant-style setting by laying the dinner table, using your fanciest tableware and sharing a bottle of wine between you. Or, if that sounds like a bit too much for you, you could cuddle on the sofa in front of the telly instead.

3 Take a bath together
Taking a bath together is about as romantic as it gets, provided you can both fit in the tub! There may be a bit of wiggling at first while you find a comfortable position, but the laughs you’ll both evoke from each other will make the whole thing worthwhile. Before you jump in your bath, be sure to light some candles and put on some soothing music to create an extra romantic atmosphere.
4 Play the blind taste test game
To play this together, you and your partner will need to find a variety of ingredients and a blindfold – the rest is self-explanatory. Feed your partner the food you’ve picked out whilst they have their blindfold on and see if they can guess what it is. Warning, this game can get messy…and also a little saucy!
5 Watch the first movie you ever saw together
What was the very first film that you and your partner watched together? With so many streaming services available now, you can find almost any film you want with just a few clicks. Cuddling up together to watch the first film you saw together as a couple is a lovely, relaxed way to spend the evening together and it’ll bring back bountiful happy memories.
