How To Make Your Home Feel Cosy With Lighting

Last Updated on: 23rd February 2025, 12:04 pm

Throughout the winter, we all want to feel cosy in our homes. As well as having the heating or a roaring fire burning in the room, lights also make your home feel cosy on a winter night. But not your lights on the ceiling, I am talking about decorating your home with lights and flameless candles this winter. We were gifted some lighting from Lights 4 Fun to share with you.

Lighting isn’t just about dotting fairy lights around your home. Nowadays there are so many more designs of lighting that you can use. From wall art lighting to flameless candles, the choice is endless. And it wasn’t easy choosing three items to share with you. I chose a set of lights for a child. A set of Flameless Candles For a Teenager and a cloche for your lounge or bedroom.

12 Dinosaur Fairy Lights

These are great for your child’s bedroom, especially if they love dinosaurs. There are 12 hard plastic dinosaurs spread across a cable. These dinosaurs have fairy lights encased inside them, so the child cannot get to them.

The lights are powered by AA batteries that you place in the battery pack at the end of the cable. The cable and lights are about 3 metres long, so there are plenty of lights to put around a child’s room. Each dinosaur light gives a soft glow, so you can use them as a night light for when your child goes to sleep. Then pop in and turn them off when they are sleeping. There is also a 6-hour timer, in case they get switched on and the kids forget to switch them off. The lights are priced at £9.99 for 12 or 24.99 for 20 dinosaurs.

Micro Fairy Light Bell Jar Bundle To Make Your Home Feel Cosy

There is something fairytale-like with light bell jars. They are sure to make your home feel cosy this winter. The light bell jar comes with a string of micro fairy lights. The bell jar is 20.5 cm x 12.5 cm and the 20 bendy micro fairy lights fit in there perfectly. The wooden base has a ring groove on it to sit the bell jar onto and stop it from moving. There is also a small groove cut out for the wire to come out of the back of the jar. Then at the end of the wire is a battery power pack that takes AA batteries.

The bell jar is a tall slim jar, that is easy to place onto shelves. So you can display it wherever you like and it will look great. You could even dress it up for different seasons of the year. In the winter, dress it for Christmas with baubles. On Valentine’s Day, pop some hearts in there. And in the Spring make it Easter-themed.

The bell jar and fairy lights are £24.99 for both items. You could even buy extra microlights in different colours to change it up a little bit throughout the year.

TruGlow® Colourful LED Glass Candle Trio

The set of 3 glass jar TruGlow® candles is perfect for a teenager who wants candles in their bedroom. But they are still too young to have candles, that burn. My daughter has been asking for candles for years in her room. And these are perfect for her to use instead. The intricate pattern on the glass is beautiful and suits a teen’s bedroom perfectly. But these would look equally as good in your garden during long summer evenings. Use them on garden tables during your summer get-togethers, or take them camping so you can enjoy the outside area until late at night.

The candles are in heavy coloured glasses and you get one pink, one yellow and one white jar. The candle inside the glass flickers and looks just like a real candle. The candles work with 2 x AAA batteries in the base of each candle. You can choose to switch them on and off or use the 6-hour timer switch. This will give you automatic illumination at the same time each evening. The colourful LED glass candle set costs £37.99 and the quality is easy to see when they arrive.

More Ideas To Make Your Home Feel Cosy

I chose these three products to help make your home feel cosy. But there are other ways to dress your home too. Add some blankets to the sofa, so you can cuddle up with your glass candles or fairy light bell jar. You can give your home a proper hygge look.
