Things You Don’t Know About Me But Now You Do!

Every year I always start Blogtober. I start it with intentions of blogging everyday and sharing experiences with other bloggers. By day 3, I have usually given up! Lets see how many blog posts I do this year before I give up. The first blog post that everyone has done is things you don’t know about me.

I Hate Fake People

There are people that you click with all of the time. But then there are fake people. The ones that pretend they like you and then stab you in the back. I am usually a good judge of character and you get one chance with me. If you ruin that one chance, then you do not get a second chance.

If I find out you are fake, I always want to know what you are hiding. You should always be genuine to the people around you.

I Caused Stansted Airport Security To Close Down Because I put A Gun In My Hand Luggage

This isn’t as drastic as it sounds but one time I travelled through Stansted Airport. I was careful to put all of the liquids through the scanner in a plastic bag. Then we saw one of our bags had been held up. We waited patiently for it to come through. But suddenly loads of security came running through with guns and surrounded me and Tilly. She was only 9 or 10 at the time.

The security was closed down and nobody was allowed to come through. Finally, a man grabbed my bag and asked if there was something in there that shouldn’t be there. I suddenly remembered the tomato sachet in Tilly’s Lunchable that I had packed. He shook his head and asked if I had bubbles in the bag. I replied that I had put the bubbles in the clear bag as per the rules.

The circle of armed security surrounded me more in case I was going to run. I am a size 26 – I don’t run anywhere! The man asked if there was a toy that went with the bubbles. I said yeah, a bubble gun! of course, the penny dropped then. He removed it from the hand luggage and I got told off for taking a gun through security. But I see it as an exercise to make sure security was tight at the airport.

I Get A Girls Holiday Every Year To Go Away And Be Really Naughty

Once a year I go to Turkey with my friend Linda. Linda fancies herself as Shirley Valentine and she is the best holiday buddy EVER! We flirt with the hotel staff and we get into trouble. But what happens in Turkey, stays in Turkey.

I Have Been Blogging For 9 Years

When Tilly was 3 years old, I started my blog www.beingtillysmummy.co.uk. It is one of the only things that has been stable over the years. My blog has helped me over the years and is another child that I nurture. It is hard work and all over the place because of my Bipolar, but it is my space. These days my main blog is www.misstillyandme.co.uk.

I Have Bipolar And Suffer From Anxiety

So I was diagnosed with bipolar in 2013, after I suffered from severe PND. It has been a bittersweet journey and I did it for so long without medication. But Now I have anti depressants as my anxiety has got worse. I find a lot of people do not understand anxiety, or choose not to understand. Mental health is still such a taboo subject.

I Won An Award At Work For My Blog

When I started my blog I was in my 5th year at Superdrug and as my blog grew, I started to write about Superdrug products. Afterall, I worked with the products and had brand awareness. So why not write about it? I was encouraged by my manager at the time and then one day I got a letter to say that all of my blog work was recognised. A lovely glass trophy with my name on it and a £50 voucher arrived as a prize. I love my trophy and it was amazing to be recognised for my blog work.

I Have A Lost Granddaughter

If you are new to the blog, then you do not know that I have a lost granddaughter. She was adopted at birth to a forever family and I live with the hope that one day she will find us. Losing a child or grandchild is difficult for anyone and my heart goes out to you all if this has happened to you.

I Believe Revenge Is Best Served Cold

Sometimes when someone hurts you or your friends and family, you want to get revenge straight away. But They will be expecting it from you. Sometimes you need to stop and think about what you are doing. How would you feel if you got revenge on someone and you got the wrong person? Also, You can think of better revenge if you have time to think about it.

I Met My Older Daughters Dad At A Funeral

I was sixteen when I met my daughter’s father at the funeral. At that age, it was love at first sight. He was my first proper boyfriend and I was in love. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out and a few years later we had a one-night stand and I got pregnant.

So I spent years telling her that he was the love of my life. In recent years she got in touch with him and he told her that he didn’t remember me!

I Grew Up In Germany

As my Dad was in the army, I grew up in the UK and Germany. As a child, I had so many different homes and so many experiences. I think that’s why I love to travel now and I make sure Tilly travels the world too.

My lust for travel also meant I could take my older kids travelling with confidence too.
