When the Christmas decorations are packed away and the mince pies are but a distant memory, we’re facing what feels like the longest month of the year. January has about 97 days in it! But do not worry I’ve put together the ultimate list of things to do in January. Activities to keep the whole family buzzing with excitement. From cosy indoor activities to awesome outdoor adventures, here’s how to make January absolutely brilliant.

Cosy Indoor Activities

Transform your home into a winter wonderland of fun. Host a family tea party with proper china cups and homemade treats. Create a blanket fort cinema complete with freshly popped popcorn with the kids, especially as Wicked is coming to home rental. Set up a hot chocolate station with different toppings – Tilly’s loves adding mini marshmallows and a whipped cream. These January activities make staying indoors a proper treat and much less of a chore.

The first month of the year is perfect for culinary experiments. Try to learn some traditional British recipes like Yorkshire puddings and Victoria sponge. Try your hand at homemade pasta or start a family baking challenge. Our favourite January activity is make-your-own pizza night, where everyone gets creative with their toppings. If you got anything for Christmas that you can use in the kitchen, get it out and experiment.
