The cold weather is pushing its way through and it is nearly time to put the heating on (if you haven’t yet). But with energy bills still rising and the cost of living having no sign of going away, we are finding other ways of warming up. I work in Superdrug, and hot water bottle sales have risen over the past few years. However, hot water bottles can be dangerous, especially for vulnerable and elderly people. So a safer alternative is to get your loved ones a Warmies lovable plush. We were sent a pumpkin plushie from Warmies to review. Here is what we thought of it.

What To Expect From Your Pumpkin Plushie From Warmies

When the pumpkin plushie from Warmies arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by its size. It is a good size to snuggle up to, yet the perfect size to pop into a small microwave. The pumpkin looks good in a toy box for kids and as a display pumpkin for Halloween. We used it as a fireplace display for Halloween and will probably continue until Christmas. You can leave it on display until you want to use it because it is not ugly like other microwave packs you can get like wheat bags.

The pumpkin is fluffy and hugable, so if you are looking for some comfort, this is ideal. It is also weighted, which is a great help for people who need some comfort. Weighted products like blankets have been used for many years as a form of pressure therapy. This makes the person feel more secure and less anxious. It is a proven method and because weight is added to the pumpkin, it will make you feel safe.

Types of Warmies For Different Occasions

Recently we shared a few Warmies in our Halloween Gift guide, you can read it here. The pumpkin is not available until 15th November, but you can pre-order now, as they are almost sold out. But you can also get a Warmies plush for Christmas or just your favourite animal. You can find the full range here to browse.

How To Use Your Pumpkin Plush From Warmies In Different Ways

Although the pumpkin is designed to be warmed in the microwave, it can also be frozen to offer cold comfort. Each Warmie has a label with the instructions to warm it up. You pop it into the microwave for the appropriate time, depending on your Microwave wattage.

Then it is ready to use and it stays warm for about 45 minutes. If you need to warm it again, it needs to be cooled down to room temperature. When it is warm, it releases the calming lavender smell for you to relax.

If you wish to use it for cold comfort, you pop the pumpkin plush into a zip-lock bag and freeze it for 2 -3 hours. This is great for bruises and sprains.

Where Can You Get Your Warmies From?

You can get Warmies plush toys from most retailers that sell other Warmies products. Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Hamleys are among a few of the retailers, But you can also buy them from the Warmies website, where you will find the biggest range of Warmies toys. You can also pre-order from the website, so ensure you get your product before it sells out like the pumpkin plushie from Warmies. Warmies are £19.99 to buy, and that’s a great investment.
