In the winter we keep our doors and windows closed to keep the warmth in. But it also means we miss the smell of fresh air going through our homes. That is when room sprays come into their own. We were sent the Jasmine And Philadelphus room spray to try for ourselves. The fragrance is a light and floral fragrance, that has notes of jasmine, tuberose and mellow philadelphus. You only need a few sprays, as and when it’s needed or you want to add some of the outsides, into your home.

Sleep Easy Ergonomical Pillow

Sometimes people ask for gifts to benefit their health. Although this is a different kind of suggestion for our gift guide, it is likely to be one of the most important for someone. When we sleep at night our pillows might be soft and comfy, but they are not supporting our head as they should do. Lochranza Mens Eau de Toilette

Another fragrance from Arran but this time for the men. The men’s range of fragrances comes in two different aromas. You have the Lochranza which has a smell of patchouli and anise. Whilst the Machrie range smells of sea salt and rock rose. As well as the EDT you can also buy soap, aftershave balm, bath and shower gel, and even a washbag.

Did you know that to get the best from your fragrances, it is best to layer them. To do this you would shower in the Lochranza bath and shower gel, then after shaving you would use the Lochranza aftershave balm. Then spritz with the Lochranza eau de toilette. This helps for the fragrance to last so much longer on your skin because when you shower, you are rubbing the shower gel on your skin and it settles on there. This works just as well for women’s fragrances too.

Although this fragrance has a spicy base to it, the overall fragrance is fresh when you first spray and not too heavy for the man in your life. As the fragrance settles on your skin (about 30 minutes later) it smells more of a subtle spicy fragrance. The wooden bottle top is great for the environment as it cuts down plastic usage. It is a very natural looking fragrance bottle from ARRAN and actually reminds me of old Scottish workmanship.

The Lochranza EDT is available from the ARRAN website for £42.50 and the aftershave gel, aftershave balm and shower gel are available for £16 each. The EDT comes in a 100ml bottle and if you were to go shopping anywhere else, you wouldn’t be able to get this quality fragrance for anywhere near that price. You can barely get 30mls for this price! The size is also perfect for air travel which means you can use it for weekends abroad as it fits in hand luggage.

Kombucha Sparkling Wine

I like to get non-alcoholic wine in at Christmas as well as the usual alcoholic wines that are available. Real Kombucha Sparkling wine is made from hand-picked loose tea leaves that are carefully selected from small gardens around the world. They work closely with a tea expert to develop their non-alcoholic wines. The fermented sparkling teas have some lovely flavours that you wouldn’t normally put together.

Dry Dragon is my favourite by far, I like my wines to be dry and not sweet. Green teas are normally made with cut grass notes, but this sparkling tea is made with straw and hay, giving it nutty notes.

The tea in Royal Flush comes from the Indian city of Darjeeling and the tea is a fragrant one that is fresh and floral. Although there is nothing added to the flavouring, it develops notes of rhubarb, white peach and a touch of blackcurrant.

Iron Godden is a seasonal special sparkling Kombucha, so there are only 1000 bottles released for sale. The drink was produced with exquisite Tie Guan Yin Oolong tea and it has an amber hue. As there are not many bottles produced, you need to get your order in ready for Christmas.
