Fun And Easy Ways To Get Fit.

There are so many ways that we can import getting fit into our everyday lives. But not everyone has the confidence of the money/time to go to a gym. So let’s make up some exercise ourselves. Here are some easy ways to get fit.

Ways To Get Fit On The School Run

Pop on a pair of trainers and you will automatically walk faster. And your feet will be more comfortable to walk in. You have to do this twice a day and I don’t know how far your school is but Tillys was nearly a mile away from where we live. So that was almost 4 miles a day that I was walking. If you speed walk or run it, think of the exercise you are getting without thinking about it. You can also do this with other mums from the school and make a competition out of it, or go for a walk after you have dropped the kids off at 9am.

Ways To Get Fit Whilst You Go Shopping

Again I live a mile away from town, so that is a two-mile walk from town and back, as well as the walking around the shops. Take a backpack to pop your shopping in and it’s better than having to carry shopping home in a bag. I used to always get the bus home after I had been shopping. Now I try to walk it and save the £1.80 bus fare for me too. It’s good for Tilly too because she doesn’t play out so much when the summer finishes so she can get some extra exercise with me, without realising.

Exercise videos

When I was a teenager I used to jump about in my room exercising to Jane Fond.  She was tough! Nowadays it’s so much easier, you can do it from the privacy of your home and you can use DVDs from some so-called celebrities, or check out some YouTube videos. These can also be fun if you get a friend or family member to do them with you.

Housework

Crank up the music! Make sure it’s loud and fast. Get into a rhythm and do the housework. It’s not worth doing the housework to Michael Bublé because that is slow, swing music and not ideal. I use that music to chill out to. I usually do the housework to Queen because the music is fast and you want to dance as you work.

Walking a dog or baby

When Tilly was a baby, I had a jogger pram and I loved it, we would walk for hours with it. If you have a little one, chuck them in the pram and go for a brisk walk. If you have a dog, go for a long brisk walk. You could even borrow a dog from a friend or start doing dog walking, you get to earn a bit of cash and do something that you enjoy.

Take your kid out to the park

We all have a bit of kid in us, don’t we? Go to the park with the kids run around with run around with them and climb the climbing frames on the apparatus, not only would this be fun but you will be the “cool Mum” in the park as well as getting a little bit of exercise. Tilly has a trampoline in the garden, this is great for jumping about on and getting fit as well as having a laugh with the kids. Even taking teenagers out is good for both of you. Have a laugh and a nice walk somewhere.

Exercise really doesn’t have to be hard work, it can be fun as well as spending quality time with your kids.
