Smooth Legs For A Winter Holiday
Okay, so restrictions are lifted on some holidays. This means that after nearly 2 years people are feeling safer going away for a few days in the autumn or winter sun. Holiday bookings have gone up 500% as Brits prepare to indulge in some sun, sea and sangria. But we have spent the past 18 months stuck at home and covered up. Now is the time to get yourself some smooth legs for a winter holiday.
Getting your legs smooth is more than just swiping a razor up your legs. It is about moisturising them too. Your legs might be smooth but they need to look nice too. Here are some ways to help get them as smooth as a babies bum.
Getting Rid Of The Hairy Legs
We all let our legs get hairy in the winter. Out of sight and out of mind and all that. But if you are going on holiday, you really need to look at getting rid of the hair. So here are a few ways to do it.
Shaving
To me, this is the easiest way. Wet legs and a razor, whilst in the shower. But for your holiday, you want to make sure your legs are super smooth. So in the bath or shower, use an exfoliant or body scrub to get rid of the dead skin cells on your legs. Dead skin cells mean that you do not get an even tan on your legs.
You are supposed to shave downwards with the hair growth. But that is easier said than done when it comes to legs. But shaving downwards will help to prevent shaving rash and also cuts on your skin.
If you choose to shave before your holiday, then you will need to take a razor with you to touch up every couple of days.
Waxing
Painful, but does the job! Waxing removes the hair from the root, so it lasts longer when you are on holiday. It is probably a better option for you too. It can be painful, especially if your period is due, so avoid waxing then. This is because your skin is more sensitive around that time.
You need to exfoliate again, but it is recommended to do that the day before you wax, this is to prevent it from irritating your legs. You can either buy waxing strips from a drug store, or you can go to a beauty therapist to get it done. But if you wax just before a holiday, you might go the whole two weeks without needing to do it again.
Shaving Cream
This is a good alternative if you don’t like waxing and your skin gets irritated by shaving. You simply apply the cream and wait for it to work, before scraping your legs with the scraper that comes in the set. Your leg hair just wipes away and it is painless. if you have sensitive skin, there is usually a cream for you too.
The only downside is that it stinks! It smells so bad so you need to do its quite a while before you go out of the house. You can do this in the shower or bath.
Moisturise To Get Smooth Legs For A Winter Holiday

Of course, you should me moistrurising all year round, to keep your skin soft. But it is more important to moisturise knowing that you are going to be out in the sun for hours on end. Although you can moisturise with a lotion, a cream or a body butter will be more intense on your skin and penetrate your skin layers better.
a body oil is also a good idea for keeping your skin moisturised and soft.
Self Tan Your Legs Before You Go For A Glow
If your legs are too white and you want to add a bit of colour before you go on holiday, you can add a bit of self tan. If you are going to use some self tan that wears off, you need to do it a few days beforehand. This gives you time to correct any mistakes with the colour. If you aregoing to use a wash off tan, then you can do it the day that you go, because you know it will wash off when you get in the shower. But you will need to apply it again after the shower.
Most self tans will add a shimmer to your skin and make you look really healthy. And lastly, when you self tan, you don’t want to just do your legs. Do your whole body, otherwise, you will go to the pool side and your legs will be brown but your body will be white.
When you have smooth legs for a winter holiday, it makes you feel so much better in yourself. You feel confident and happier. now all you need is to look forward to that winter holiday.
