How To Make An Easter Basket For A Fiver Or Less

Last Updated on: 23rd March 2026, 06:28 am

Easter is expensive; you see pictures on social media where parents have bought their kids 20 Easter eggs each. It is enough to make you feel like a failed parent. But don’t let it! You will celebrate Easter in the way that suits you and your budget. Remember that social media isn’t always real. This blog post is going to show you some easy gift baskets to make for a fiver each. For the blog post, I haven’t added the cost of the basket and shredded paper. Because you can make a basket out of a cardboard box and some coloured shredded paper from home. We have a more detailed post about the things we bought from Poundland, here

Mixed Activity And Chocolate Basket

This basket has a mixture of chocolate and activities for the kids to do. It is probably cheaper than an Easter egg and there is so much more to do.

  • Easter Wreath £1 from Poundland
  • Egg-shaped chalks £1 from Poundland
  • Plastic Hollow Chick 33p (came in a pack of 3 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Straw baskets 16p each (pack of 6 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Hollow Chocolate Eggs 12p each (pack of 8 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Haribo Packs 10p Each (pack of 10 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Speckled mini eggs 50p (Half a bag for £1 from Poundland)

The Total for this basket is £3.93 for each one. But that is based on sharing with more than one basket, because some of the products were from multi-packs.

Chocolate Lovers Easter Basket

This basket is a chocolate lover’s dream, and it only costs £4

  • Terry’s Chocolate Orange Easter Egg £1.25 from Iceland and B & M
  • Biscoff Filled Eggs £1.50 for 3 in B & M
  • Chocolate brownie cakes 10p each (pack of 10 for £1 in B & M)
  • Hollow Eggs 12p each (pack of 8 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Straw baskets 16p each (pack of 6 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Mini Cadbury’s Cream Eggs 12p each (pack of 8 for £1 in B & M)

Crafts And Chocolate Gift Basket

This basket is at the top of your £5 budget and just sneaking in there at £4.93. But it is still an awesome price compared to buying an Easter egg this year. And there is so much more to it.

  • Colouring And Sticker Book £1 from Poundland
  • Dancing chick toy and sweets £1 from Poundland
  • Easter bead set £1 from Poundland
  • Haribo sweets 10p each (pack of 10 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Plastic Hollow Chick 33p (came in a pack of 3 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Straw baskets 16p each (pack of 6 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Hollow Chocolate Eggs 12p each (pack of 8 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Speckled mini eggs 50p (Half a bag for £1 from Poundland)

Sweet And Chocolate Free Easter Basket

This basket is simple and only costs £4 to put together, yet it is full of Easter Goodies. This should keep them busy for a few hours over the Easter weekend. With it only being £4, you can even add more to it to make it up to a fiver.

  • Colouring and Sticker Book £1 from Poundland
  • Easter Wreath £1 from Poundland
  • Egg-shaped chalks £1 from Poundland
  • Plastic cup with twirly straw £1 from B&M

Another Chocolate-Free Easter Basket

We wanted to add a basket that has edible goodies as well as some fun goodies for kids and adults. This basket is more based on biscuits than it is chocolate, so they will still get their sugar rush. And it still looks like an awesome basket!

  • Plastic Hollow Chick 33p (came in a pack of 3 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Haribo Packs 10p Each (pack of 10 for £1 in Poundland)
  • Dancing chick toy and sweets £1 from Poundland
  • Easter selection of biscuits £1 from B&M
  • Bunny iced biscuit 59p from B&M
  • Plastic cup with twirly straw £1 from B&M
  • Plastic straws £1 from B&M

Have you thought about what Easter baskets you would make?
