On your next trip to Brasov in Romania, you need to take a walk to the base of the Tampa Mountain. Then you will find the beautiful Sub Tampa restaurant in Brasov and need to eat there. Whether you go for lunch or dinner, the choice is yours. Sub Tampa Restaurant is easy to find as it is on the path along the bottom of the mountain. I recently attended with a group of bloggers and the Mayor of Brasov.
The restaurant looks classy and fits in with the mountain area. It is covered in greenery and natural woods and colours. Inside the restaurant has a look of elegance with the tables set for a lovely meal with friends or family. You can choose to sit inside the restaurant or by the open windows. Although it is inside, the feeling of being outside is there. You must love a feel of open space while enjoying your meal.
How Can We Get There Or Book A Table?
To book a table you can email them before your trip to Brasov. You can also call them when you are in Romania. As I said before, the restaurant is on the walkway at the bottom of Tampa Mountain. The only mountain found in a Romanian City.
The Menu At Sub Tampa Restaurant In Brasov
The physical menu is in Romanian, but for foreign visitors, there is a QR code on the table that you use with your phone. This will give you the English menu, where you can choose your food and drinks. You order what you want from the friendly waiting team, and they will also be there to help you choose something to eat. Especially if you cannot make up your mind – like me!
I wanted to share a selection of the food available at Sub Tampa, and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed when you visit.
Bran Gold
These are a selection of kneaded cheese with pine nuts, walnuts and tomato jam. The cheese comes locally from Bran, so it is nice to have some local food additions to the menu. I loved these! They are similar to breaded cheese sticks in England, but the added ingredients make them 100% better. I would go to the restaurant just to eat these.
Cheese Platter
With this shared platter, you get a selection of six dry-aged kinds of cheese and a selection of chutneys, including fruit in wine, onion chutney with prunes and honey with apple, walnut and pear. I love a good cheese platter and what made this one so tasty was the slices of fresh apple on there too.
The cheeses are Raclette, Lavender ripened, Chive ripened, Truffle ripened, Goats cheese roll and Buffalo burrata. So there is a wide selection to try out. You could easily have this as a starter or snack between 4 people.
Buffalo Burrata
Fresh creamy buffalo cheese with three different tomatoes, olive oil, starflower and fresh basil. The cheese is presented on top of a bed of tomatoes and basil. This is perfect for the bread that is placed on the table for you to eat. The cheese was creamy and enjoyable.
Spreads on Bread
A selection of dips and some breadsticks to enjoy. You get four pots with hummus, eggplant, roe, chicken pate and greaves paste. Perfect if you are looking for something to fill up on whilst popping in for a few drinks. I do like that all of these starters include fruit and salad with them.
Buck Steak
This meal is buck steak served with a raspberry sauce. Laid on a bed of mashed sweet potato and roasted sweet potatoes. This was lovely but very filling. I love sweet potatoes, so they were perfect with this steak.
Rabbit
This was a meat that I have never tasted before. As I was in Romania, I wanted to try something of a local dish. The rabbit was presented like a piece of pork and I thought it tasted similar to pork. But a lot of people think it tastes like chicken. The rabbit is served with a wine sauce, a green pea and mint puree and roasted carrots. This was a generous portion and I couldn’t eat it all.
Desserts At Sub Tampa
If you have space after you have eaten your main meal, side dishes and starters. You need to try some of the Romanian desserts that they have on offer. I mean how can you resist these delicious cakes? Are you the type of person who likes to try a piece of all of the cakes? You can ask for a variety of cakes and share them with your group.
What Did I Think Of Sub Tampa Restaurant In Brasov?
As I am heading to Brasov in a few weeks, I will be returning to have a meal. Words cannot describe how lovely the food and the atmosphere were. The staff from the management to the waiting staff were very attentive to our needs and made sure our drinks glasses were never empty and asked if we needed anything else.
The photos do not do the restaurant justice, and the food is perfectly displayed when it comes out from the kitchen. I do recommend booking if you are going to visit there, especially in the summer.
