Travel Essentials

When you go away there is so much to remember! Sometimes we forget that we need stuff that you don’t use in our own country. And end up having to buy at the airport which is going to cost a lot more money. So hopefully, this blog post will serve as a reminder of travel essentials to make life easier as you travel.
Anti-mosquito plugs
This is something that you will find handy if you’re going somewhere that is mosquito-infested. I travel to Turkey and the blighters attack at night so this is perfect. Because you plug it in and the anti-mosquito plug works for eight hours and they’re so easy to use. You get foil sachets and you place the tablet into the plug. It heats up and releases a vapour that will keep the mosquitoes at bay. But always remember to wash your hands after touching the tablet
A money belt
We used one of these when we backpacked in Europe. They are discreet and you can pop your money and passport in there for safekeeping. It is perfect to help keep your belongings safe whilst you sleep during your travel. The different compartments make it easier for you can keep everything organised too.

Flight socks
These are an essential must-have for long flights. But I would also advise them for long coach journeys. When you are on a long flight, you can’t move around as much as you need. So your blood doesn’t pump around your body as well as it should. Flight socks provide compression that increases the blood flow and prevents your body from forming blood clots. This helps with preventing deep vein thrombosis.
Plug adapters
Make sure you buy the right ones. We will go out to Switzerland where the plugs are different from normal European ones. When you buy a plug adapter, you can see a list of countries on the back. That indicates you can use the plug in certain countries. This saves time and money and you buy the correct one.

Straps
As it is so easy to grab the wrong suitcase on the luggage carousel having a leopard strap can make your suitcase easily identifiable. On a TV programme we watch recently, A gentleman was stopped in customs. He had to open his suitcase, he opened it to say it was full of things that weren’t his. It also contained some contraband, the man swore blind the suitcase was not his and went back to the carousel and found his suitcase. So it’s very easy to take the wrong suitcase when you’re in a rush. You want to get your holiday destination. So bright Colourful straps, not only keep your suitcase sealed but also makes it identifiable as your own one.
Sanitiser or wipes
I never travel without these for hygiene reasons as well as using wipes to freshen up on my journey. Especially if it’s a long one just make sure they fit in your hand luggage allowance. This is even more important after Tilly caught Rotavirus in Turkey Last year.

Are there any travel essentials to make life Easier that you always have to travel with?
