Having A Day When You Don’t Know What To Cook?
Despite our best intentions, it’s common for people to come home unsure about what to do for dinner. Whether you’re worn out from a busy day, or you don’t have a craving for anything, in particular, it’s normal to be unsure about what to create. Instead of giving up and ordering pizza or making a box of macaroni and cheese: here are the top things you can try when you don’t know what to cook.
Keep a Tried Recipes Binder
Put together a binder of recipes that you’ve tried and enjoyed. Whether it’s a physical binder of printed recipes or a folder on your computer, try to keep track of what you wanted, both making and eating! You can leave notes on each recipe to remind you of changes you made or what you’d do differently. After a couple of months of this, you’ll have a handy self-made cookbook that you can flip through whenever you want something delicious but aren’t sure yet.
To make this even easier on yourself, try to sort the foods by their types. You can go with a simple organization, like breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or change it to different cuisines and ingredients.
Set Aside a Want-To-Make Folder
We all catch ourselves scrolling without thinking every once in a while. Sometimes while we’re doing this, we may stumble across recipes that sound delicious or intriguing. Instead of favoriting and forgetting, create a folder on your browser called ‘food inspo.’ You’ll quickly build up an extensive collection of recipes, and the next time you’re stuck and want to try something new but aren’t sure what to try, you’ll have a list of options at your fingertips.
You can print these out as you would for the recipe binder, but it’s often a better idea to try the recipe before printing it so that you don’t waste paper.

Charcuterie Board
Charcuterie boards have fallen in and out of fashion since the first time someone served crackers and cheese on the same plate. A charcuterie board can become dinner and an easy one at that! Fold slices of deli meat, cut cubes of cheese, and include crackers and some types of fruit and vegetables. Like mini dill pickles, adding a sour option can give the board enough variance in flavor, while fresh apples are a fruit that mixes well with nearly everything. A cranberry pepper jam for dipping can add a little heat and complete this board.

Try Websites That Make Recipes Based Off What You Have
Multiple websites, like MyFridgeFood and SuperCook, offer an option where you can put in the ingredients you have, and it will, in turn, give you recipes you can create with them. Although the results are entirely dependent on what you already have, you can make any dish you’d like this way. This option is convenient for people who recently moved into their place and don’t have a ton of experience cooking! Not only will you get to use what you have, but you’ll also have the chance to look at food as more of an art than a science.
