What Can I Put In A Christmas Eve Box?

Last Updated on: 21st December 2022, 09:14 pm

Christmas Eve boxes are getting more and more popular. When I was a child we were allowed to open one present on Christmas Eve. These days it is about Christmas Eve boxes full of fun things for the kids to do on the day before Christmas. But I hear you all asking ”What can I put in a Christmas Eve box?”

It is difficult because you know they are going to get so many gifts on Christmas morning. So what do you put in a Christmas Eve box? Do not worry, we are here to help you.

The Christmas Eve Box

Many people grab a basket and fill it to the brim with goodies. Others just place the Christmas Eve box gifts on a table for the children to help themselves. But there are so many different Christmas Eve boxes out there for you to choose from. We were gifted a personalised one from Boutique Gifts. It is a wooden box that we can use year after year and then hopefully still pass it on to my granddaughter to use.

The Christmas Eve box is 29cm wide and 13cm high, and there is a little latch to keep prying eyes from peeping in there! It is empty and you fill it with the treats that you know your family will want. Getting it personalised with your family name is included in the price. So that makes it even more special for your family. It makes it look more like it has come from the elves or Santa.

The Christmas Eve Box is delivered between 1-4 working days. Depending on which delivery you choose to have. There is plenty of time to order before Christmas.

What To Put In The Xmas Eve Box

There are so many different things to pop in the box. You know your family best, so you know what they will want. We used to put a DVD in ours, but we stream Christmas movies now. So we don’t bother with a DVD. But it is something you can add to yours.

Pyjamas

Everyone loves Christmas Pyjamas, so these are great for the family to put on the night or day before Christmas and relax. Or maybe your family wears Christmas Pyjamas on Christmas day? Nothing says Christmas like a pair of comfy PJ’s.

Hot Chocolate

It isn’t Christmas eve without hot chocolate. So this year we are adding these Christmas crackers from Home Bargains to our Christmas box. They are all flavoured so you can choose which flavour you want to try. You can also add marshmallows too and squirty cream if you want the luxurious type of hot chocolate.

Candy Canes

Of course, this is a real sign of Christmas and you can even pop a candy cane into your hot chocolate. Candy canes come separately packed so the kids don’t even need to eat them on Christmas eve.

A Christmas Story

Even though Tilly is 12, I still read The Night Before Christmas to her on Christmas eve. It gets me so excited for Christmas, and it is the moment I relax after the last-minute Christmas panic. It is the time that me and my girl make so special on Christmas eve.

We also have a copy of The Christmas Carol that is personalised just for Tilly. This was previously gifted a few years ago. And it is a great story to read as she gets older.

Christmas Socks

These are such fun things to add to the box. We were gifted some Christmas socks from Pretty Polly to add to our Christmas Eve box this year. The socks are £6 a pair and a great addition to the box. You can buy them for both older kids and adults, for a fun way to keep those feet warm this winter. You can also buy some Christmas tights to add to the box like the ones we have here in our Teens Christmas gift guide

Christmas Cookies

Is it even Christmas without cookies? I got these in Poundland and there are 5 individual packs in there. So there is enough doe everyone in the family. If your family is larger than 5, grab two bags because it is literally £1 a pack.

This box was a Christmas Eve box for a 12 year old girl. You can easily adapt it for the age of your child.
