Over the years radios have been used less and less with the introduction of smart devices. BUT radios do so much more than they did years ago. I don’t know about you guys but I do love to keep up to date with the latest news and listen to music without running my phone battery down. So I am here to help you to decide what are the best portable radios.
Majority Radios are a UK company, based in Cambridge and all of their radios are named after small towns and villages surrounding Cambridge. I love this idea, a little bit of the Homeland in every radio, that is now sold all over Europe and the USA.
We were sent 3 different radios to review from Majority Radios, and this is what we thought of them. Each one is very different and we had some fun discovering what they did and how portable they were. Here are the best portable radios that we have chosen and the reason why we think they are the best.
Majority Histon Portable Digital Radio (Rose)
The Majority Histon radio comes in a rose colour and it looks sleek, whilst taking the shape of a traditional radio. The Histon was really simple to set up, and once you plug it in, you press the on button. It will automatically scan the digital channels for you. When you have chosen your favourite channels, you can save them in the preset mode. This makes it easier to find the channels when you use it regularly.
The radio has a lead to plug it in or you can also pop 4 AA batteries in and take it out with you. There is an alarm, for when you struggle to get out of bed in the mornings, and it also has a snooze button for those lazy mornings. The rose colour is cute. The LCD screen tells you what channel you are listening and when the radio is off, it shows the date and time. The radio is really lightweight for moving it around or taking it out of the house. Majority Eversden Portable Bluetooth Water-Resistant DAB+ Radio
The Eversden Portable radio is perfect for people who love to listen to music in the bath or shower. As well as being perfect for people who have hobbies like fishing or outdoor life. You can take it camping with you to enjoy the radio as you relax in the outside. It comes in grey to blend in with your environment.
The radio is DAB and FM radio as well as Bluetooth. So you can play your favourite music and stories from your phone on the radio. The radio is mains powered for whilst you are at home, but out and about it uses the built-in battery. You can charge the battery with the mains USB power lead. Although it has a waterproof rating of IPX5, it is only splashproof, so it will be protected in a rain shower. I will be fine to use in the shower but you cannot submerge it in water. Majority Little Shelford Portable Bluetooth DAB+ Radio
The Little Shelford is a radio as well as a Bluetooth speaker and it comes in 6 different colours to choose from. It has a retro look to it and wherever you place it to use, it will look great. Unlike the other two radios, the LCD screen is on the top of the radio, rather than the front. It comes with a power lead to plug it into the wall. The Little Shelford is £39.99 from Amazon.

Which Was My Favourite Of The Best Portable Radios
Out of all of the best portable radios that we tried out, I have to say that my favourite one is The Little Shelford. I love the retro look, and it will look great wherever you use it. The radio is perfect for all family members that you might like to buy this for. The colours are vibrant and the sound is excellent when you connect it with your phone through Bluetooth.
