What You Need To Make The Pink & Orange Doughnuts
To Make The Doughnuts
- 3 egg yolks
- Cooking oil (for frying)
- 300g of self-rising flour
- 230 mls of milk
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 100g of caster sugar
- 1tbsp dry yeast
- 110g of butter

To Make The Icing
- 120g of icing sugar
- 2 tbsp water
- Orange, pink and white sprinkles (any brand )
- Pink food colouring if you want pink icing on the doughnuts
- Strawberry flavouring is an optional extra.

You can also make these doughnuts with orange icing and flavouring. As an alternative to make them more of a Christmas theme make them in green and red. And for Halloween, make them orange and black. They are easily adaptable to any occasion.
How To Make The Doughnuts
Pop the dry ingredients, flour, yeast, and sugar into a bowl and mix them together. Add the eggs and mix them with a spatula. Add the milk and butter, and mix it to make a dough.

When the dough doesn’t stick to the sides anymore, it is ready for you to form a rounded dough. Cover the mixture with a kitchen towel and put aside somewhere warm to rise for about 2 hours. The dough should double in size to make the doughnuts.

Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball. Flatten the balls into small discs and place them onto a greaseproof paper. Sprinkle your surface with flour, and cut out the middle circles using a round ¾ inch cutter.

Preheat a Pot or deep fat fryer filled with vegetable oil and carefully place each doughnut in there, cook 1-2 at a time for about 2 minutes then flip on the other side. Place on a plate and leave to cool.
To Make The Icing
Add the water, food colouring and flavouring to the icing sugar and mix it slowly. Pour the glaze onto each of your doughnuts and decorate them with orange, pink and white sprinkles.

When they are finished, they make great gifts for people or just a little treat on a weekend afternoon. How awesome do they look? And think about how much money you have saved.
