We all know how hard it is when you are a teenager and your period starts. So hopefully you can help your teenager through her periods when the time comes. Along with periods, comes period pain. It is hard to see your own child in pain all of the time. So today I wanted to share some ideas to help your teenager cope with period pain.
Make your teenager a little package every month. Inside it pop some pain killers, sanitary towels and a face mask. Also pop in some chocolate to make them feel better. This little package helps them to feel better as well as gives them the essentials they need.
Exercise Stimulates The Hormones
Your daughter will tell you that she can’t do P.E because she is on her period and it hurts too much. But as a matter of fact, exercise helps to stimulate the hormones and the pain fades for a while. So encourage them to do P.E. Taking a walk somewhere with her will help to relieve period pain. They can even try a bit of yoga because this helps to stretch their body.

Eat Certain Foods Helps To Cope With Period Pain
There are some foods that we eat that are anti-inflammatories, so these will help to ease period pain. Try and encourage your teenager to eat berries, tomatoes, and pineapples to help them. Leafy green veggies, almonds, walnuts and salmon are also great anti-inflammatories to help with pain relief. Also, try to get them to eat foods with turmeric, garlic and ginger.
Use A Hot Water Bottle Or Heat Pad
A hot water bottle for them to curl up in bed with is great for easing period pain. Give them a water bottle covered in a tea towel. You can also get some hot patches that you attach to your skin or your clothes in the area of the cramps. They will help to ease the pain. Although some people also recommend a cold patch or some ice to help with the pain. Everyone is different and your teenager will find out what works for her.

Drink More Water
You know that when you get your period, you also feel bloated. Bloating actually makes period pain feel worse than it is. They might think that drinking water will make them bloat even more, but in fact, drinking water will help reduce bloating. And then reducing the bloating, it lessens the period cramps and pain.
Drinking hot water also works because it increases blood flow through the whole of your body and then it helps to relax the muscles. When the muscles are relaxed, the uterus doesn’t contract as much and it also lessens the pain.
Introduce Them To Herbal Tea To Help them Cope With Period Pain
Herbal teas might not be a favourite of your teenagers but they will help to reduce muscle spasms in her uterus that causes the period cramps. These drinks have ant-inflammotory products in them as well as other benefits. Drinking Chamomile, fennel and ginger tea helps to relieve stress and stop insomnia as well as keep cramps at bay.
