Do you love to have a chocolate freak shake? I know that we do when we go out, but when you are on a budget it can get expensive. Especially if you have 3 or 4 of you that want a chocolate freakshake. With this recipe, you can make a chocolate freak shake at home. You can adapt the recipe to add other flavours as you wish.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to make because you need time to set the chocolate on the side of the glass. These ingredients will make 4 or 5 chocolate freak shakes at home. To make a smaller amount, divide the recipe by 4.

The Ingredients You Will Need
- 2 pints chocolate milkshake
- 8 scoops chocolate ice cream
- 8 tbsp marshmallow
- 4 tbsp dark chocolate chips
- 2 pints of milk. You can use any milk like oat milk too.
- A bar of your favourite chocolate, or a packet of chocolate buttons that you can melt.
- 8 to 12 squares of blonde or salted caramel chocolate (for garnish)
- Chocolate sauce (optional)
*Instead of using a ready-made chocolate milkshake, you can make your own. Just use milk and your favourite chocolate milkshake powder or syrup.
How To Make A Chocolate Freak Shake At Home
Melt your favourite chocolate over the hob or in the microwave. If you choose to use the microwave, make sure you melt it for 20 or 30-second intervals. Otherwise, it will not melt correctly. Whilst it is still warm, spread the chocolate on the inside and outside of the glass and drizzle the inside rim of your glass with it. you can drizzle as little or as much as you want.
In your blender you need to mix the ice cream, chocolate milk or oat milk. Blend it until it is smooth and you would be able to drink it.

Pour your shake into the glass gently, trying not to spill it on the sides. Make sure you leave some space for the garnishes. Now it’s time to decorate the chocolate freakshake (you can do this before pouring your shake, but I prefer to do it after so the garnish won’t get destroyed). Shred blonde or salted caramel chocolate into fine pieces and stick it into the edges, add some marshmallow and chocolate chips to have fun with the drinks.

Top with whipped cream and garnish with remaining marshmallows, dark chocolate chips or chocolate sauce. Serve cold with a straw. Enjoy!

Alternative Flavours For A Freak Shake
You can make some alternative flavours to the chocolate freak shake by changing the milkshake flavour. These days you can get many different flavours of chocolate bars from mint, strawberry, nut etc to garnish the freak shake with. If you want to get adventurous, try Maltesers, Oreos, or Snickers for your Chocolate freak shake.
