Last Updated on: 15th March 2023, 11:54 pm

Mother’s day is coming up, and so is Easter. So I wanted to share this little appetizer recipe with you all to share with your family. It is even easy enough for the kids to make themselves as a treat for Mum or dad. It can easily be adapted to use vegan cheese as well, so it is great for most people to enjoy. Creamy vegetable appetizers are so easy to make. You can prepare them a few minutes before your guests arrive.

  • Serving Size: 1 appetizer
  • Number of Servings: 12
  • Prep Time: 30-40 minutes
  • Cook Time: 0 Minutes
  • Additional Time: 10-15 minutes

What You Need For Preparation of Creamy Vegetable Appetizers:

  • A tub of plain cream cheese that has been softened. You can use full-fat or reduced-fat cheese, the choice is yours. For Vegans, you can use something like Violife cream cheese.
  • 1 pack of vegetable soup mix
  • Water biscuits, saltine crackers or cream crackers. If you want some cheese crackers that taste cheesy, you can use Ritz crackers or something similar.
  • Cucumber slices to decorate the appetizers. Slice the cucumber and then take the slices and cut them into 4 equal pieces. They will look like triangles or pie slices.
  • A piping bag with a star tip that has a large opening. You can use a different tip if you want to. It all depends on the finish you are looking for. But the tip must have a large opening because otherwise parts of the soup might get trapped in it and clog the opening.
  • A Knife. If you do not have a piping bag, you can spread the cheese with a knife. it won’t be as fancy but it will still work.

Alternative flavours

Add garlic powder, onion powder or other spices to add more flavour to your cream cheese. You can even add a little bit of chilli powder for a kick.

How To Make Creamy Vegetable Appetizers:

Put the softened cream cheese and vegetable soup mix in a bowl.

Mix then both for about 1 minute with an electric whisk. You can do it by hand, but it will take longer. Make sure it is all mixed together well.

Scoop the cream cheese mixture into the piping bag.

Pipe the cream cheese mixture onto the crackers.

If you are putting cucumbers on top, take a slice and place it on the top to decorate them. You can also use alternative salad vegetables to decorate and garnish the cream cheese. Try a bit of celery or spring onion.

To make this more of a child-friendly recipe and use fewer ingredients, you can use flavoured cream cheese instead. You can get cream cheese and chives, sundried tomatoes, and smoky cheese flavours.
