Buzzed Out is a game for teams. So it is perfect for nights in with friends enjoying a few drinks together. But it is also good to play with the family on winter evenings. It is a quick-thinking, word description game that can get intense with the buzzer counting down.
As it is a team game you will need at least 4 people to play it. But the more people that you get involved, the better the gameplay will be. It will get chaotic and that adds fun to the gameplay.
What Comes In The Buzzed Out Game

How To Play The Game
Separate into two teams, make it fair and mix the team with kids and adults on each side. Then you need to choose whether you want to play with the red cards or blue cards. Shuffle them and make sure they are placed where everyone can reach them. Decide between you all how many rounds you will play. There is the option to play up to 15 rounds on the scorecards.
Set up the timer by pressing down on it. The timer has random different settings and it will go off at random times. So there is no guessing when it will go off.
A team member of the first team takes the card and starts describing a word to their team. When the word is guessed, the card gets passed to the other team and one player chooses a word. When the second team has guessed the word, the card is passed back to the first team again and they play again. The team members who describe the words are simply called ‘describers’.
The Rules
You can only use verbal descriptions for the word on the list. You lose if the other team hears you saying the actual word or sees you using hand gestures. So it is not as easy as you think. You need to describe the word as soon as possible so you can pass the card on to someone else. You do not want to be the team holding on to the card when the buzzer goes off. That makes you a loser!
What We Thought Of Buzzed Out
I like to be under pressure to some extent, so this game is perfect for me. You need to think fast and act fast so that your teammates can guess your words. You need to be clear when you talk so that your teammates can hear you. We like that you can play up to 15 rounds on one game sheet, so if you are enjoying the game, you can carry on. But if you are playing with kids, you can play for only a few rounds before they get bored.
I like that the buzzer is random, so you never know when it is going to go off. The ticking is loud enough for everyone to hear. The ticking builds up the anticipation and the excitement as you play. There are 88 double-sided cards, so you have so many different cards to play with and it is very unlikely that you will come across the same set of words over a few games.
The game is easy to play and I love something simple like this. This is going to be one of our games for games nights.
