Why You Need Taskmaster, The Secret Series Game
Last Updated on: 14th January 2025, 08:09 pm
Okay, I had never even seen Taskmaster before Tilly was gifted the Taskmaster, The Secret Series Game in a goodie bag at a recent Blog On Event. As it was my birthday, we got together with Kim and had a little games night with Taskmaster, The Secret Series. I didn’t know what to expect. But I did not expect it to be so hectic and imaginative as it was. We were not under any obligation to review this game but it is right up there with one of the best games we have played as a family.
Taskmaster, The Secret Series is available from Amazon for a decent price of £24.99
What Comes With The Taskmaster, The Secret Series Game?
If you watch the programme normally, you will kind of guess what’s involved in the game. And it is awesome the way it is all designed to be put into a box like it is. This is what the game comes with.
- 10 Task Envelopes
- 5 Taskmaster Playing Pieces
- 10 Secret Boxes With Secret Items Inside Them
- 10 Secret Task Cards In A Sleeve
- A Taskmaster Scoreboard And Wipe Clean Pen
- A Secret Series Champions Envelope
- An Easy Rules Booklet

Setting Up The Game
When you first get the game, you need to make it up a little. You need to make the boxes up and pop the playing pieces inside ready for the game. You also need to pop some playing pieces out of the cardboard sheets that come with the games. This only takes a few minutes.

Everyone chooses a playing piece although this game doesn’t actually have a board game to use it with. You will also need to grab some paper writing pads and some pens. An A4 pad works well for this game as you will use it for the tasks. Place the boxes in the middle of the table and set the envelopes aside. You are now ready to play.
How To Play

Taskmaster, The Secret Series can be played with as little as 3 people or as many as 5. One of you needs to be the taskmaster, but you can all take turns. The Taskmaster gives you your first challenge, and that starts the game. The game is not a sit down game. It involves you running around the house looking for things that the taskmaster tells you to get. In some cases you have to grab a potato and disguise it to something that isn’t a potato. Or you write down a name and then for part 2, you need to write a surname to make them a famous person.
The Taskmaster gives you a score between 1 and 5 depending how good you are at the challenges. And the scores are added together at the end of the episode. The person with the highest score wins. At the bottom of every episode, there is the first task for the next episode. Pass the paper to the next taskmaster, so they can read the first task. Then they choose a next episode to do with the players.

What Did We Think Of Taskmaster, The Secret Series?
As I said before, I had never seen Taskmaster on TV. So I didn’t know what to expect from the game. Although, Kim and Tilly were fans of the programme. So they knew what was coming. The game is easy to play and it takes around 45 minutes to an hour to play each episode. So I like that you can play as many episodes that you want to play. I also like that you can play the episodes in any order.

There are only 10 Episodes per game, so you will end up playing them over and over again. But if you play with more or different people, the outcome will be completely different.

The game gets you up running around your house, looking for the most random of things. We had to look for stuff from Morocco, so the taskmaster could guess the country. The other player was looking for stuff from Mexico. I found this game to be different to other games that we play. It was a game that didn’t last too long and we were in control of how many episodes we played.

The game is for people over the age of 8 and is for 3 to 5 players. We liked that everyone got to be the taskmaster. So nobody missed out playing the game. For another TV game, try The Traitors. We have one copy of the game to give away on the blog too.
